Individual Therapy
Individual therapy can be helpful in addressing feelings of sadness, worry, isolation, loss, grief, loneliness, anger, frustration and anxiety and in building mental well-being. We work together to identify areas of your life you would like to improve, set goals for improvement, and collaborate on solutions. Individual therapy allows a space for trust and exploration to work toward your goals and create the authentic, balanced life you are seeking. Therapy can address areas such as improving mood and outlook, building trust, identifying and building personal strengths, improving communication, ways to deal with stress, and increasing a sense of balance and well-being in your life. Therapy sessions are usually 50 minutes in length and occur once a week. Some clients, who are facing a particularly intense challenge, may request longer sessions, and these can be negotiated if needed.
Relationship Therapy/Couples Therapy
Maybe you and your partner are arguing all the time over things that don’t seem important, or you can’t seem to connect anymore. Maybe the spark that you felt when you first met seems to be gone. Maybe you want to open your relationship and your partner doesn’t. Maybe jealousy is interfering with your relationships. Maybe your group of partners is having difficulty navigating the complexity of a new relationship. Or maybe you just can’t seem to get along. I work with couples and group relationships to improve communication, build trust, create and nurture connections between partners, and learn the skills of building a strong relationship. Relationship therapy sessions are usually 100 minutes in length and occur once a week.
Appointments and Fees
Individual sessions are 50 minutes in length and relationship therapy sessions are usually 100 minutes in length. My current availability is for Sundays only. My usual fee is $110/50 minute session for individual therapy, with longer sessions pro-rated. In order to improve access to therapy, I offer a limited number of sliding-scale spaces.
Insurance
I am currently accepting MHN (Managed Health Network), ComPsych, and APS Healthcare Bethesda (Network Advantage Services) insurance plans. If you have other insurance, I will be happy to provide you with a statement for your insurance company so you may seek reimbursement.
When considering utilizing insurance to pay for part or all of your therapy, it is important to be aware that most insurance companies require a mental health diagnosis in order to reimburse for services, and they may also request other information about your treatment and needs, which can impact your privacy and confidentiality. I will never release any information about you without your consent, unless required to by law (see my Privacy Policy). Also, many insurance companies limit the number, type, frequency and length of sessions, as well as the types of therapy available for reimbursement. Please carefully consider these factors when choosing whether or not to submit a claim to your insurance company. It is your responsibility to verify all benefits and eligibility prior to engaging in services.
